White Dove Releases for Weddings and Anniversaries

White Dove Releases for Wedding Ceremonies

The Perfect Wedding Gift

Consider giving the gift of a dove release as the perfect wedding gift for the ones you love.

Doves select only one mate for life, which is the perfect symbolism of marriage.  In fact, the releasing of pure white doves is an ancient ritual that symbolizes many of the elements of married life.

While A Touch Above will always be present to help administer the event, those involved may even choose to hold and release the doves themselves at the specified time.   We'll show you how.

A wedding speaks of love and togetherness.

What better way to express these sentiments than with a pure white dove release during or after your wedding ceremony?

In the past, couples have opted for being showered with grains of rice as a wish for a large harvest or a new family.  Today a popular and classic alternative is the release of pure white doves.

Dove release at wedding

  • Doves symbolize love, peace, happiness, and prosperity, and can be released outdoors as the couple leaves the church or during an outdoor ceremony.
  • The trained white doves, ranging in number from two to 20, circle the couple and then fly away, denoting the newlyweds' departure from their families and toward life's new journey.
  • It is said that if doves are seen on your wedding day it will assure a happy home, good fortune, and ever- lasting love.
  • You can "Go Green" with a white dove release.  A dove release is environmentally friendly, as the performance of our winged friends is always "recyclable."

The Symbolism of a White Dove Release

Bride and GroomFirst, you will note that our doves are pure white.  This represents the bride and groom as they begin their life's journey together in purity and with no regrets of their past.

Second, a wedding ceremony begins a journey of two lives working together for life's happiness.  The actions of the doves demonstrate this beautifully.  Once released, the doves fly higher and higher together as they seek their way home.

While still separate, they work as a team until they can find their bearings.  Once they discover the direction they need to travel, these beautiful white doves climb to greater and greater heights.

Similarly, a bride and groom do not know what the future holds for them.  Their path may change many times along the way, but with faith and love they will find their way together.  Just as our doves have the instinct to find their way home, the wedding couple will always know where "home" is, as home is wherever they are together.

Customize Your Dove Release

About Our Doves

The birds used in white dove releases are actually white homing pigeons, which are related to the dove species.  Actual doves are too fragile to make the flight home and do not have a natural homing instinct to find their way home.  White homing pigeons are slightly larger, have the homing ability, and are stronger flyers. Even so, their performance is possible only after prolonged and precise training.

Our "doves" are also very clean, white, and healthy birds, and love to fly, showing off their skills.Bok Tower Wedding Dove Release

Do You Provide Butterfly Releases Too?

No.  Our birds are true performers, enjoy a pampered life, and are rewarded for their efforts.  However beautiful butterflies may be, they can never be more than kidnap victims forced to spend a part of their short lives in captivity and far from home.  Often butterflies are delivered injured and, unable to fend for themselves, fly away to an early death.
